VIEWING THE DOCUMENTARY FILM:
THE RICHIE BOYS,
EVENING OF OCT 3rd, 2009

After the Ma'ariv services for Sukkot and the Shabbat Havdalah, we saw the historical documentary film, The Richie Boys The film is about a small contingent of German Jewish intellectuals who escaped Nazi Germany in the 1930s and exacted the perfect revenge--returning to Europe as U.S. soldiers to defeat the enemy. They used their language and cultural knowledge to wage psychological warfare against the Nazis and to liberate Europe. Recently interviewed, these sharp octogenarians, vividly recall their treacherous and heroic slog through World War II, from their training at Camp Ritchie, Maryland (from which their was name was derived0 to the beaches of Normandy, from dark weeks spent in a German POW camp to D-Day ebullience. They are now highly successful artists, businessmen, and professors,
